The Berlin city hall, built between 1861 and 1869 and is called the Red City Hall because of its red brick architecture. The commanding construction sits beside the television tower, between Alexander Square and Unter den Linden Street. The building has been served as the mayor's office and the seat of Berlin city government since 1991.
