Bellevue Palace

The representative building, which today is the official residence of the Bundespräsident (federal president), was built in 1786 as a summer residence for the younger brother of Friedrich II, Ferdinand von Preussen. The castle got its name Bellevue because from here one has a nice view over the Spree River. If the flag on the building is flying, it means the federal president is in.
